CommentsJackie was a close friend of mine. We looked forward to entering the "Big House" Northeast Catholic for our soph. year. Jackie was killed in vehicle accident just outside Awbury Park at the train station. May God be with you. Charlie
CommentsRemembering my Dad who lived a third of his life at our home at 934 E. Price Street. He had a love of Immaculate and Germantown.
CommentsHarriett and John Rossiter were my Aunt and Uncle who raised me since I was 4. Growing up in Germantown and Immaculate Conception Parish was special (hindsight of course). Their blue coller values and catholic religion were instilled in me early on and I thank them for that. We lived at 5751 Beechwood Street until 1961.
CommentsMom and Dad raised us 8 kids at 5711 Chew St. It seems we lived there forever, a noisy, happy family. Our grandfather,George Bleiler, was the park guard at Awbury. We left Chew St, but Chew St never left us.
CommentsThere is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance last forever. Although God took her back nine years ago, we are so grateful for the years He let her stay. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
CommentsPaul Henkels passed away on January 8, 2009. He was raised on Church Lane in Germantown. He belonged to IC but attended private schools. He was chairman of the Henkels & McCoy engineering firm. He was a staunch supporter of Catholic School education and strongly promoted school choice. A very generous man, that generosity extended to the parish of his youth. Rest in peace.
CommentsIn memory of my parents and brothers.
CommentsThanks for the memories of my youth Bernie. I know you are safe in God's loving arms.
CommentsChildhood sweethearts--grew up @ 902 & 908 E Chelten Ave--Dennis did get to see his only daughter turn 21--but did not see his 1st grandchild or youngest son graduate from High School. Will always love ya!
CommentsDad (and Mom) sent me and my 5 brothers and sisters through I.C\. & C.D. covering the 60's, 70's and early 80's. They did whatever they needed to do to provide for us as well as opening our home to all of our friends. Many of them, including the Capozzi, Dallin, Reilly, McQuiggan, Hendrie, Bray, Crawford, Crane, Barella, Priore, O'Neill, McCoy, Compton, Burden kids (just to name a few) spent more time at our house than they did at home - and Dad always welcomed them, in his own way. Those of you you that knew him and were there know what I mean.
CommentsBERNADETTE (nee McCreight) born on Sept. 28, 1936, died March 27, 2009 after a brief illness. Bernadette grew up in East Germantown, she was a parishoner of Immaculate Conception Church. Beloved sister-in-law of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Swank of Tampa, FL and Mr. and Mrs. James Benson of Huntingdon Valley, PA. Also survived by 6 granddaughters and one grandson. Dick and Bernie raised their 3 children in Roslyn, PA, and later retired to Somers Point, NJ, and then on to Largo, FL. Arrs. in Largo FL.
CommentsI think my dad would like this !!! back at the immaculate pop. your son, Bill
CommentsIn loving memory of my sister and best friend. You are always in my heart.
CommentsPeggy was IC 1943 and Little Flower 1947. She enjoyed many fond memories of IC and her Price Street neighborhood. She is survived by five children and eleven grandchildren.
CommentsDanny was my cousin we lived on Chew st. He graduated Immaculate in 1975. He passed away from complications from diabetes.
CommentsMy Dad was a big Supporter of Immaculate Conception Germantown. Did all the food for the Catholic Charities Drive at the Hall on Chelten Ave. Was a Trucker & Rigger and did a lot of work for Henkels & Mc Coy.
CommentsMom was born (1924) and raised in Germantown where she resided at 5813 Stockton Rd. until her marriage in 1946. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish where she was baptized, attended IC school, graduated from Germantown HS in 1942, then married. Our family then resided again with her mother, Agnes Muller from about 1951 until 1959 when we relocated to Lancaster County. She loved reminiscing about the days past and would have so thoroughly enjoyed this site.
CommentsMichael was a classmate. I can't even remember when he passed away, but I think it was around 1965-1967, when I was in 5th or 6th grade. He died tragically, hit by an out-of-control car and was pinned against the light post of the gas station located at Chelten & Musgrave, across from the seminary. The gas station and those light posts are still there today. I think of Michael every time I pass that intersection and see those light posts. He was taken way too soon. If anyone has a more definite date of his passing and any memories of Michael Zegarski, please post them here.
CommentsMy mother, Mary M. Paschal was a dedicated parishoner of Immaculate Conception Parish for more than 25 years. She sadly passed away on January 26, 2008, and although her physical presence is no longer with us, her beautiful spirit will remain with us always. "I Love You Mommie!"
CommentsLouise Morgan was a longtime parishioner of IC. She passed away yesterday, June 10, 2009. She had been ill for the past 10 years or so. While her son was in my mother's cub scout den, I didn't know Louise from my Germantown days, but from working with her years later, until her illness forced her on disability. What a good and caring person. I understand from Fr. Holliday it was her wish that there not be a funeral. May she rest in peace.

CommentsMy mom loved Immaculate. My mom and I would often have Father McCaffrey to our home for dinner. We lived on the 1100 block of Stafford Street. It was always a beautiful sight walking up the street and seeing that wonderful church. I sang "Danny Boy" at my mothers' funeral as she was buried on March 17th. (I hope she wasn't offended) God Bless You Mom.....Stephen Heeney
CommentsMy brother John (Upthe) and sister Jackie both passed away about 1 yr apart from each other. Upthe was very popular with "the crowd" as he always had a way to make us laugh! I miss him dearly!! my sister has always been a big fan of Immaculate Conception who loved the school & the church! she always had an ear to lend when needed, (I miss my only sister) May you both rest in peace! luv and miss ya! CommentsJack McNamee was not from IC, but graduated from St. Benedict's in 1959 and moved to Olney/St. Helena's, graduating from CD in 1963. But he was well-known and very well-liked by many in IC circles, and in Irish circles.
